5 Ways to Improve Your Personal Image

People tend to judge or come to conclusions about others from their appearance. It, therefore, makes sense to maintain a great image for your self-esteem and to project a favourable image to whoever comes into contact with you. A few best practices can help you create and maintain a great personal image. Read on below to find out some of them.

1.    Care for your skin

Proper skin care covers a lot, but the important thing is to keep the skin clean and healthy. Find out your skin type and use the right soaps and oils. Use sunscreen when going outdoors and drink plenty of water. Water is important for healthy skin. Massages are also known to improve blood and lymph circulation to the skin. You can massage your face regularly to enhance its youthful look.

2.    Exercise

Regular exercise has many benefits; this is mostly because it improves blood circulation to all parts of the body. Enhanced circulation leads to healthier skin and a healthier body. Exercise also helps to regulate weight and boosts confidence and appearance. Include a variety of activities in your exercise routine to get the most benefits.

3.    Dental care

What is appearance without a smile? Even villains in movies smile. Keep your teeth clean and healthy by brushing at least twice a day and flossing once a day. Misaligned teeth and malocclusions can reduce self-esteem, and they have adverse effects on long-term dental health so consider cosmetic dentistry to prevent such problems and enhance your image.

Grooming and dressing play a large part in outward appearance. Find out your body type and the best type of clothes to wear. Grooming helps project a confident and neat look.

5.    Avoid stress

When you feel good, it radiates on your face. Conversely, personal appearance often deteriorates if the mind is in turmoil. Dark circles around the eyes may form, and with time, frown lines may graduate to wrinkles. You can take time to talk to a mental health professional, sleep adequately and keep a diary. Also, indulge in an enjoyable activity and focus on the positive aspects of life. 

A great personal image is inseparable from a healthy lifestyle, both physically and mentally. Eating right and taking time to exercise and groom goes a long way in boosting the visible outward appearance as well as how good you feel about yourself. Remember, people tend to judge books by their covers.
